On January 6, St. Clair hosted over 200 high school students and their coaches during the launch of the 2018 season of FIRST Robotics competition. It was part of the world-wide launch of this year’s contest, unveiled via video conference during the Saturday morning event.
In addition, each local high school team received a $1,000 sponsorship from St. Clair – a total outlay of $19,000.00.
“FIRST Robotics is something the college is extremely passionate about,” said Darryl Danelon, Chair of the School of Engineering Technologies. “We have financially supported these teams for the past four years because the skills and experience high school students receive as part of the team experience is invaluable.”
