On Saturday, November 23, St. Clair’s Diagnostic Medical Sonography program held an Education Day at the college.

Over 100 students and sonographers filled the lecture theatre to listen to prominent radiologists Dr. Bridget Ala, Dr. E. Hooper and Dr. V. Spano present topics on this year’s theme of “High Resolution Imaging Sonography”.

The guest speaker was Peter Souilliere: a Professor in the college’s Protection, Security and Investigation and Police Foundations programs; Coordinator for Law Enforcement Testing; and a member of the St. Clair College Wellness Committee. He spoke on the topic of Workplace Wellness.

Second-year students participated in the annual Poster Contest, which requires the research and visual representation of vascular topics in Sonography. The students displayed their posters, and were available to answer pertinent questions from visiting technologists. Visitors were provided with a ballot to vote for their favourite. This year’s winners, pictured left to right, with Instructor Gina Kobielski, were Mia Beauchamp (first place), Lindsay Lamoure (second), and Ashley Matthews (third).

The day was successful in bringing together this body of health-care workers to learn and network.
