While you are pursuing your education, nothing is more important to St. Clair College and its Student Representative Council (SRC) than ensuring your personal safety.
That entails more than making sure you abide by health-and-safety regulations in your labs and workshops. It also means that you should feel safe on campus – especially when you’re making your way to your parked car after an evening/night class.
That’s why the college and SRC developed Safe Walk.
Approximately 40 student volunteers have received “management of aggressive behaviour” training through the college’s security provider, Paladin Security.
With that training in-hand – plus their light-reflective safety vests and flashlights – these volunteers will provide walking escorts to your parked car at both the South Windsor (Main) and Downtown campuses, from 5 to 10:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
Faculty and staff are welcome to use the Safe Walk service too.
To arrange a Safe Walk Escort, call 519-972-2727, Extension 2741 at the South Windsor Campus; or 519-927-2727, Extension 4909 at the Downtown Campuses.
